OCS Curriculum

The Ochsner Clinical School is part of the Ochsner Health System, which is a nonprofit, academic, multispecialty, healthcare delivery system dedicated to patient care, research and education. The focus for the Ochsner Clinical School is to provide students a high-quality medical education and training experience that will instill a highly developed awareness of ethical and professional responsibilities to individual patients and to the community; the skills to cope with the challenges of medicine, both technical and humanistic; a life-long commitment to continuing education, with enhanced critical reasoning and communication skills; and an ability to contribute to the continuing evolution of medical knowledge. Students will experience an education in a team-based environment with an emphasis on problem-based learning across all areas of health care, along with the integration of basic and clinical sciences and critical evaluation of the scientific basis of medicine relating to clinical reasoning and diagnosis.
